Long ago, before this forum was a twinkle in anyones eye; I was just finishing mirrors edge and longed to make an animation about it, simply to have some fun making up a story about it... Well I did. I decided to make a side scrolling animation about a cool character who ran with faith. I wanted to make him basically look like faith as a guy. I made tons of character sketches and finally found a design that I stuck with: the happy emo design. (actually, he was short at first then he was fat than he was a blond surfer and THEN he became the Isaac you all know)
At this point in his design, I did not know what his name would be. Then a miracle happened (sort of) : my dads girlfriends daughter from a previous marriage got an iPhone. My dad, being the funny guy he is, decided to annoy her by pretending to be an apple service representative and testing her at all hours of the day regarding the quality of her iPhone. As we were thinking of a name, he suggested something beginning with an I; and decided on Isaac Preston. Needles to say; I loves the name and decided that I would use it for a character in something somedday. When I went back to thinking of a name for my runner to use in my animation that night, I immediately thought of Isaac Preston. I went with it and made the first anim in a matter of hours. Later inthe year, I joined on-mirrors-edge and lurked around. This was until I found z thread that piqued my interest: a roleplay suggestion. I joined the edge and have been further developing Isaac's story and personality ever since. Btw all this was typed on mah iphone
